Eolas ón Rialtas maidir le Covid-19 – Updated information re: Covid 19 from Government.

A chara, (English Below)

Tá litir do thuismitheoirí tagtha ón Roinn Oideachais agus iarrtar ar thuismitheoirí é a léamh go cúramach. Baineann sé leis na céimeanna atá i gceist chun tástáil antigien a chur i bhfeidhm. Dírím bhur n-aird ar an treoir atá tugtha maidir le tástáil:

“Is é an bealach is tábhachtaí le cosaint i gcoinne aon leathadh ar aghaidh ar ionfhabhtú ná má bhíonn aon siomptóim COVID-19 ag do leanbh, lena n-áirítear casacht nua, giorra anála, teocht ard, scornach tinn, ba chóir dóibh féin-aonrú sa bhaile agus ba chóir duit tástáil PCR COVID-19 a chur in áirithe dóibh. Is féidir leat áirithint a dhéanamh ar an láithreán gréasáin seo: https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/covid19/testing/get-tested/ Níor chóir do leanaí a bhfuil siomptóim acu tástálacha antaigine a úsáid, ní mór dóibh fanacht sa bhaile agus tástáil PCR a shocrú. Má tá imní ar bith ar thuismitheoir/chaomhnóir faoina leanbh, ní mór dóibh teagmháil a dhéanamh leis an dochtúir, mar is gnáth.”

Seo an treoir chéanna atá ann le cupla seachtain anuas agus ní mór dúinn uilig í a leanúint. Táimid an-bhuíoch do thuistí atá ag cloí leis an treoir seo agus tá ár n-iarrachtaí chun scoileanna a choinneáil ar oscailt ag brath oraibhse ar fad.

A letter to parents has arrived from the Department of Education and parents are asked to read it carefully. It relates to the steps involved in the operation of antigen testing. I draw your attention to the guidance given on testing:

“The most important way to protect against any onward spread of infection is that if your child has any symptoms of COVID-19, including a new cough, shortness of breath, high temperature, sore throat, they should self-isolate at home and you should book a COVID-19 PCR test for them. PCR tests can be booked here: https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/covid19/testing/get-tested/ Children who have symptoms should not use antigen tests, they should stay at home and organise a PCR test for Covid-19. If a parent/guardian has any concerns about their child they should contact their GP, as per normal.”

This is the same guidance that has been around for the past few weeks and we all have to follow it. We are very grateful to parents who are adhering to this guidance and our efforts to keep schools open depend on all of you playing your part.
