Our School

Gaelscoil Riabhach is a multidenominational primary school in Loughrea, Co. Galway. As a gaelscoil, we teach through the medium of Irish. The school was founded by local parents in 2000 to provide for Irish language education in the area.

In 2017, we moved to our brand new school building.

School Mission Statement

• Gaelscoil Riabhach is a multi-denominational gaelscoil (primary school). Everyone is welcomed as an equal to the school and the school functions as a community in which Irish is the primary language.

• It is our mission to provide a motivating, kind, happy and safe environment for our students, as a space in which they can discover their abilities and needs and develop further as children.

• Through the School Core Curriculum (Croí na Scoile) respect will be developed for the diversity  in the school and in the world around us.

• Parents will have a central and democratic role, from management to daily participation, in the life of the school.

• Gaelscoil Riabhach will strive to provide a healthy and safe work environment for its staff.

• All members of staff will fulfil their duties professionally.
